Meet Nancy Houser-Bluhm

Nancy lived in the foothills west of Denver, Colorado for over 25 years with her husband and menagerie of pets. She hailed from Michigan but growing up watching Bonanza, led to a longing to go west.. They have journeyed back to Michigan and are creating a new Bluhmerosa.

Years of rock climbing and skiing shifted to biking, skiing, yoga-ing, breathing in nature; and oh yes, daily doses of writing with a variety of groups. Her most recent novel, The Nickel Loop, released July 2024 .

The Gidget trope of miscommunication drives Nancy batty. “Just tell Moondoggie what’s on your mind!!” Authentic communication with herself and others has been an ultimate life quest.

A lifelong journaler (that’s the communication with herself part), Nancy produced her own journal with past journal wisdoms and her husband’s art. She retired as a worker bee following a career in Speech-Language Pathology. It was then she began blogging and published Whispers for Terra in 2021.

Once described as a ‘thinker’, Nancy strives to leave readers with something to ponder and she is committed to slipping cultural and environmental issues into her engaging fictional writing.

The Nickel Loop, a time travel historical romance finds Emmeline stepping from a train in a small Colorado town into the year 1938 only to discover a man has traveled forward from 1898. It’s motional escapism, historical immersion and a love story shaped by fate and wanting to change the past.
